Products for 3D Printing and modeling
3D Printing is
a powerful process that has been used by the product
design community for many years and is now seeing rapidly
increasing usage in many markets. A 3D printer is a rapid
prototyping machine that can produce a physical model that
is an exact replica of a 3D model that was designed on a
computer. Historically, rapid prototyping equipment has
been expensive and complicated to use, requiring a
dedicated operator and specialized facilities. Today,
there are thousands of 3D Printers in use worldwide in a
multitude of industries.
What is unique
about Contex technology?
Contex printers are by far the fastest 3D Printers in the
world, requiring hours to build models where some
technologies might take days. They are also the least
expensive to operate amongst the major vendors, and by a
significant margin. Finally, Contex 3D Printers use the
only technology in the world capable of producing full
colour models. Because of these key attributes, Contex
printers are really the only viable option in the AEC
market.
How does the
technology work?
The concept is elegantly simple. First, our software takes
your 3D digital model and "slices" it into thousands of
thin slices measuring a few thousandths of an inch. The 3D
Printer then spreads a thin layer of a composite powder
onto its build platform. During the next step, one of the
slices is literally printed onto the powder using an
inkjet print head that injects a liquid "binder" into the
powder to make it solidify. The process repeats itself
until the full physical model has been built.

The
Cybaman Replicator manufacturing system - a fast and
powerful, fully synchronised six axes, CNC machine
tool in miniature.
The machine's
3D datum provides a portal gate linking the real world
workspace to the Virtual CAD world's datum enabling the
machine to manipulate the work-piece three dimensionally
by moving the CAD model.
This gives
universal CNC access to all facets of a 3D surface
providing a "one hit" manufacturing solution, the product
being a functional part.
